From the Pit to The Palace

Recently I returned from the extraordinary nation of Jordan. This is the 94th nation that I have traveled to. I was totally amazed at the historical and Biblical richness of this land. The warmth and kindness of the people, their cultural heritage, and far reaching beauty puts Jordan at the top of my list of places that I must return to soon. Some of the major sights of historical value there are places such as Petra, which is one of the seven man made wonders of the world, Mount Nebo, and the Dead Sea. However, the most captivating place for me was a lesser-known place called Dar Al Bir.

This story captivated my heart. Twelve years ago, the late King Hussein visited an orphanage just outside of Amman. The conditions there were barely fit for human habitation. The poverty and depraved state of the people, particularly regarding the children prompted the king to take serious action to help rectify their situation. When he returned home, back to his palace, he informed the queen that they were to immediately move out of the Palace and into the guesthouse. Moved with total compassion for the children, King Hussein moved all 200 children from the orphanage they were living in to the King’s Palace in less than 24 hours.

This one action from the king took these precious children from the pit to the palace. To this day, the Dar Al Bir Palace remains an orphanage. To think, that one encounter with The King, can change the course of your life in a seconds time. That gave me a newfound desire to have faith in The King on a whole new level. The world and all those that dwell in it belong to the King. How much easier would life be if you simply welcomed the King into your life and your situation and expected Him to turn things around for you?

What still amazes me about this story is that these children were living in abject poverty, and the difference between where they were and where they could be, was in the mouth of the King. I believe wholeheartedly that your life is getting ready to change just like mine did many years ago, and still continually does until this day because of one word from the King. One word from the King can change nations; it can change your financial situation, and even your health. Just be prepared to be in position to receive from the King when He speaks the Word of Destiny over your life.
